Dallas Aquarium

The Aquarium is located downtown and features many species of fish not usually found in Northern Texas!!! I think that the symbol unique and cool.

Looking Straight Up

Looking up at skyscrapers is a modern marvel. These buildings are 2 of the primary structures in Downtown Dallas.

Bridge over Turtle Creek

Turtle Creek is a very nice area just a mile West of downtown. It is heavily wooded and is named for the water feature that runs directly through it. This picture was taken on one of the old bridges that spans the creek.

Learning to Fly

At the Dallas Air Park in Plano you can learn how to fly single engine Cessna's. This little airport is part of a housing community where you can fly in and park you plane at your home.

Brave Window Washer

I can't imagine doing what this guys does for a living. He must love danger.

Industrial Dallas

This is part of a vacated building just West of town. I believe that they will be converting this entire building into lofts or condos.

Building Boom

Unlike the rest of the US, Dallas is still in the middle of a housing boom. During the 1990's and 2000's Dallas did not ramp up building as much as other regions in the US. It never had a bubble so it is actually prospering currently.

This Lady Stands Guard

This statue head stands guard over this antique store in Uptown Dallas. I thought it to be quite intricate and a nice touch.

Owl's!!!

These 2 owls stand guard at the door of the largest HOOTER'S in the world. This restaurant is located in between downtown and the new Victory project.

Infomart

If anyone that has driven from the DFW Airport to downtown you pass a very ornate building that looks like it was built in the Versailles era. This building is named the Infomart and is the primary telecom hub of the Midwest. This is the inside of that massive building.

Parking Garage Mural

Located at the Tower of the Americas this Parking Garage has a very intricate mural painted on it's side. This painting is 10 stories tall and focuses on an opera theme since it is a few streets from the Dallas Center for Performing Arts.

Grain Tank

Many grain tanks sit in the Midwest but I found this one near a rail yard just West of downtown. I thought that the patina finish showed it's wear and tear well over the years. This piece of hardware is used to store and load grain onto trains and trucks for distribution.

Jasper's Kitchen

This is the kitchen at Jasper's restaurant in Plano. This is a great place for lunch, dinner, brunch or to just grab a drink.

Summer Flowers

These flowers are of the summer variety. These types of flowers grow wildly on the fields around Dallas.

60's Building Face

Another close up of a 1960's building. The architecture downtown is so pronounced that it needs to be shown. I grew up in Southern California and many of the office buildings there take on the same look.

Easter Island in Dallas

Not really Easter Island but you can buy these statues for you own yard. This place has many South East Asia pieces that can fill out a home nicely.

New Fountain

This is a new fountain in the Victory neighborhood downtown Dallas. The W Hotel throws flower petal in the top of the fountain to give it a tropical feel.

Railroad Cars

This is a picture of a now defunct Missouri Pacific RR company car. This car is on display in downtown Grapevine.

Downtown Sculpture

Situated outside of the Nasher Sculpture Garden, this piece adds some color and new age art to the city skyline.

Thai Delight

This is a listing of the dishes at the best Thai restaurant in Dallas. The name of it is "Noodles Ave." and is located in Plano.

Mini Stone Bridge

This perfectly manicured stone bridge that spans this "massive" creek is just one of the features that you will find in Highland Park.

Awards for the Tea Room

The live music venue "The Gypsy Tea Room" was the winner of the best Live Venue in Dallas from 2000-2003.

Indonesia in Dallas

This is a view inside of a store named "Big Mango" in the design district. This store sells furniture and goods directly from South East Asia.

The Hunter and The Hunted

Kind of an eerie site but I saw these Vultures standing in unison stalking these Canadian Geese that have migrated South a little early.

Skyline

Dallas skyline from Elm St south of downtown. You can't see it from these pictures but the temp outside was 108 degrees Fahrenheit.

Industrial Blvd.

Street signs at Industrial Blvd. This is a street that really reflects this area south west of Dallas. It still has its industrial roots but has over the years turned into the homewares and fashion district of town.

Uptown Building

Just north if Dallas on Cedar Springs Avenue you will find some newer office complexes. This is one of them that brings some new life to the uptown area.

Building Architecture

This is an interesting atrium in the front of this Oak Lawn building. It kind of looks like the square and circle game that kids used to play.

The Venice of DFW

Back when downtown Irving was at its infancy, the planners came up with an idea of making a sort of Venice like scape through the city. They built canals with commercial and residential space along them to stimulate life. Only 1 problem, the area had major difficulties following the .com boom and still has not recovered. It is a great idea and I hope that it does come back someday.

Ceiling

This is the ceiling of the new wing at Northpark Mall just north of Dallas. I think that the symmetry and lighting give a warm feeling without trying too hard.

Dallas Homeless

As in all cities, Dallas has a homeless population. I wish that there was a way to help all of these people that are down on their luck.
