Turtle Creek is a very nice area just a mile West of downtown. It is heavily wooded and is named for the water feature that runs directly through it. This picture was taken on one of the old bridges that spans the creek.
When my husband's ancestors came from Indiana in a covered wagon, they stopped at this shady creek and fished for dinner. His great-great-great-great-great grandfather pulled a softshell turtle from the creek and thus was it named Turtle Creek. Alas, none of the family has the kind of money it takes to live along Turtle Creek, but it's a nice family story.

It seems to be a quiet walk to enjoy the woods and the sound of water.
