Interesting Staircase

This staircase sits at the end of the multi level parking lot that is adjacent to the Dallas Convention Center downtown.

Dallas Museum of Art

The Dallas Museum of Art is a top notch display of art here in North Texas. They are constantly rotating the collections so every month there is something new to see.

Interesting Lights

I was walking through Mockingbird Station and saw these 2 lights. Very industrial but makes a great B & W.

Reunion Arena

This is the entrance to Reunion Arena in Downtown. It used to be home to the Mavericks and Stars before the new American Airlines Center was opened. This building was also home to some 200 evacuees from New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina.

Cotton Bowl Flags

The Cotton Bowl flags are still up at fair park. Auburn topped Nebraska in an exciting game.

Whole Foods, Lemon Ave.

This is a view inside the Whole Foods Market located on Lemon Ave.

The White Rock Lake Boathouse

The White Rock Lake Boathouse on this cold winters day is not a good illustration of how it looks from Spring to Fall. This is a vibrant area where rowers move up and down this city lake.

Coyote Statue

In Westlake there are a collection of vibrant statues that dot the landscape. This on depicts a coyote howling to the moon.

Angelika Theatre, Dallas

There are actually 2 Angelika Theatre's in Dallas but this is the one just North of downtown. These movie theatre's focus on independent films.

White Rock Lake and Downtown Dallas

Though this was taken in the middle of winter you can imagine how beautiful White Rock Lake and the downtown skyline is during summer.

Lakewood Theatre

Lakewood is a part of Dallas located East of downtown and is seeing a revitalization. Their theatre is the site of many live performances.

Glass Pyramid

Sorry I have been away for the last 6 days. I was traveling on pleasure and had no access to internet.

This is not the Louvre but a small glass pyramid in downtown Dallas.

Dallas' Underground

We don't have a huge metro system here in Dallas but we do have a few lines that bring people into downtown. This line of the DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) runs north from downtown Dallas to Plano.

Glo Dry Cleaning

The Glo Dry Cleaning Company is located on the East side of Dallas and is an outsourcer for smaller dry cleaning operations in the area. I really just like the sign!

Magnolia Hotel Building

The old Magnolia Hotel building is a perfect example of why to refurbish older structures for today's use.

Westlake

This lake and winter tree sit in Westlake, TX. This suburb of Dallas has some of the richest and largest homes in the area.

Whale Mural

This whale mural sits in downtown Dallas and gives a cool feeling during our hot summer days.

Philly Cheese Steaks in Dallas

Philly's is located in downtown Dallas and serves authentic Philly Chess Steaks. I went to school in Philadelphia and though it doesn't rival Pat's or Geno's it's pretty good for the South.

Fair Park

This place is alive and well when the State Fair of Texas occurs every October. I took this shot a few weeks ago when nothing was happening. That Ferris wheel has to be one of the largest in the country if not the world.

A different view of Downtown Dallas

Taken from the W Dallas, you see a little more when you are several stories above the ground.

This staircase at Mockingbird Station had to be photographed in B & W. Anytime that I see steel I can't stop myself from taking B & W.

Sun Rays over the W Hotel Pool

Taken on Saturday, I was up on the 16th floor of the W Hotel where the pool sits when I saw the clouds part and the suns rays beamed down. The pool gives a wild optical illusion. Talk about an infinite edge pool.

Under the Houston St. Viaduct

The Houston St. Viaduct in Downtown crosses in front of Reunion Arena and over I-35 to the other side of the Trinity River. Underneath it looks a little like something you would see in Europe.

Modern Sculpture at Mockingbird Station

This is a modern Christmas sculpture located in the round about in Mockingbird Station. I thought the look through to the other side with the reflection on the near side was a nice illusion.

Reunion Ball and Lake

Looking from Dallas City Hall lake you can see the Reunion Ball in the distance.

Ranching in Dallas

Ranching in Texas is a big business and here in the Dallas area it's no different. These manicured fences border this farm in Westlake just North West of Dallas.

Dallas Federal Reserve

Not that exciting of a photo but something that needs to be shown. This is the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank. It is one of the more modern Fed buildings out of the 12 in existence.

Fair Park Tower Building

This is the Tower Building at Fair Park. It is outlined in Gold and looks beautiful against the blue sky. This building also houses the Fir Park Administrative Offices.

White Rock Lake

The steely grey sky and bare trees are uniquely winter around the country. This view of White Rock Lake in East Dallas is not immune to these cold days.

Bowl Day in Dallas

Today is Cotton Bowl day here and Dallas and it pits Nebraska vs Auburn. Currently the game is tied at 14 all at the time I am writing this.
